I love the superhero game Heroclix. Like most of us who play the game, I also enjoy the comic books upon which the characters of the game are based.

So I've created a number of campaigns designed to simulate storylines with a traditional comic book feel to them. I'll be gradually posting the several dozen I've got ready over the next few weeks. After that, whenever I get around to creating a new campaign, I'll add that as well.

For the most part, the campaigns will be divided up into Marvel, DC and Mixed Universe. There will be a few single scenario entries as well.

If I can figure out how to manage it, I'd like to allow other Heroclix fans to post their own campaign/scenario creations here as well.

IT'S A TRAP!!!!

A team of heroes is being led into a trap by a team of villains.

Background: Responding to a threat by the villains to detonate a fusion bomb, the heroes are led to various locations, where they are jumped by a series of enemy teams of successively increasing strength. Will they retain enough of their own strength to defeat the villains’ main team when they finally reach it?

Because the villains are planning on detonating the fusion bomb and destroying a major city at midnight that night, the heroes have no time to rest and heal between scenarios. The idea is that the Hero will easily win the first few scenarios easily. The Villain simply tries to do as much damage as he can to weaken the Hero for the final fight.

TEAMS: The Hero creates a 600 point team, using all characters with the same Team Ability or keyword.

The villain will create a series of teams as described below in the specific scenarios.

SPECIAL RULES:

1) The Hero does NOT heal any clicks between scenarios (except per the Feat Card rule below). Support can only be used during a battle.

2) Feat cards are freely available to use when building teams.

3) Feat cards can be “sacrificed” by the Hero to heal damage. Between battles, a hero may permanently give up a Feat card. For every 5 points the feat was worth, the character who was assigned to the feat heals 2 clicks. For a card such as ICWO, characters may individually sacrifice the feat without requiring other characters to also do so. This may only be done between battles—not during. Excess points that can’t be used for healing are lost.

SET-UP: Roll for first player and set up normally for each scenario. Some scenarios restrict map choice.

“RUN AWAY! RUN AWAY!”: In all scenarios except the last, the villain gives up when he’s down to 2 or less figures on the map.

THE SCENARIOS: Simply play through the scenarios. The last one is fought to the death. The Hero always gets 6 actions per turn, while the Villain calculates his actions normally based on his build total.

BFCs: Players do not use BFCs in the first three scenarios. Each player must play a BFC of his choice in the last scenario. Players need not decide which BFC to play until after the initial scenarios are played. These BFCs can not be cancelled.

SCENARIO #1: “COMMON THUGS.”

The Villain makes up a 200 point team of Criminals, Henchmen, Thugs, Lackeys, and Con Artists. The Villain may also include one named figure of 50 points OR one Dreadnaught. The map chosen must be any outdoor “city” type map or the warehouse.

SCENARIO #2: “ALIEN SCUM.”

The Villain makes up a 300 point team of aliens. Use Skrulls, Kree, Brood Warriors, Badoon, Shi’ar, Saurian Troopers, and Parademon Scouts/Warriors. The Villain may also include one Brood Queen. There is no restriction on map choice.

SCENARIO #3: “SMALL FRY.”

The Villain makes up a 300 point team of named characters of less than 50 points each. There’s no restriction on map choice.

SCENARIO #4: “THE FINAL BATTLE.”

The Villain makes up a 600 point team, using characters with the same team ability or keyword. The map chosen must be the Underground Base, STAR Labs, Castle Ruins, or the Armor Wars factory map. This scenario is fought to the death. The victor here is the winner of the campaign.

If the Villain wipes out the Hero in any of the first three campaigns, he is awarded honorary Master Villain and the Hero should go hide in a dark closet for a month.
