I love the superhero game Heroclix. Like most of us who play the game, I also enjoy the comic books upon which the characters of the game are based.

So I've created a number of campaigns designed to simulate storylines with a traditional comic book feel to them. I'll be gradually posting the several dozen I've got ready over the next few weeks. After that, whenever I get around to creating a new campaign, I'll add that as well.

For the most part, the campaigns will be divided up into Marvel, DC and Mixed Universe. There will be a few single scenario entries as well.

If I can figure out how to manage it, I'd like to allow other Heroclix fans to post their own campaign/scenario creations here as well.

"IN BRIGHTEST DAY" A DC Universe Green Lantern campaign

The planet Zarkon 3 has been struck by a deadly plague. The Guardians react quickly, sending a trio of Green Lanterns to help with the distribution of medical supplies and to assist in quelling panic. An investigation reveals that the plague is a genetically engineered weapon. Zarkon 3 is being attacked! The Green Lanterns begin following the trail that will lead them to a vicious mass-murderer. Along with a special police unit of Zarkonians, the three GLs take up the hunt.

TEAMS: One player will operate the Green Lanterns and their alien allies. The other player will use the various bad guys they encounter along the way. Heretofore, the players will be respectively referred to as the Hero and the Villain.

Team size in all scenarios will be 600 points.

The Teams will be The Hero will pick any three different Green Lantern corps members. (No using three Hal Jordans, for instance) In addition, he will be using aliens drawn from Marvel and/or Indy to represent the Zarkonian cops. He may use any number of Skrulls, Shi’ar, Badoon, Brood, Kree, or Saurian Troopers. He may stick to one species, or he may presume Zarkon 3 has a multi-species population and mix 'em all together.

The Hero uses the same team throughout the campaign. He may not change out figures, but he may change or re-assign feat cards in between scenarios.

The Villain will be using different characters in each scenario, as detailed in each scenario description.

FEAT CARDS: Neither player may use ICWO or Lazarus Pit. Otherwise, feat cards may be assigned freely.

SCENARIO LENGTH: All Scenarios run 12 rounds.

VICTORY: While tracking down the villain responsible for unleashing the plague on Zarkon 3, the Hero keeps running into groups of other bad guys. How well he does against them represents how quickly he is following up clues. Keep a running total of victory points throughout the first 3 scenarios. Whoever is in the lead going into the last scenario is given an advantage.

SCENARIO #1: THIS LITTLE PIGGY RAN OFF TO THE (BLACK) MARKET

Following clues, the Hero follows the trail to the planet of Rigel 4, which has a thriving black market for high tech items. They encounter Braniac, who has brought a team of villains there with the intent of enhancing them with cyborg limbs and implants. Not surprisingly, a fight breaks out.

MAP: First player picks map as usual, but must choose between the Chemical Factory map from Icons, the Armor Wars factory map, or the Junkyard map.

THE VILLAIN: The Villain must use any one version of Braniac (either the Unique or any Hypertime version.) He may use any number of Dreadnaughts or Ultron figures, representing battle robots he is currently controlling. He may also use any one version of the following figures: Bizarro, Parasite, Metallo, Queen Bee, Gorilla Grodd, Solomon Grundy, Giganta, Toy Man.

SET-UP: Roll for 1st player and set up normally.

VICTORY: Calculate victory points normally.

SCENARIO #2: D-DAY FOR DARKSEID

The GLs and the cops move on, only to run across some Apocolyptian trouble while traveling to their next destination. The villains are planning on attacking a defenseless planet, obligating the good guys to intervene.

MAP: Use the Space map, along with the special rules that go with it.

THE VILLAIN: The Villain uses Darkseid and/or Kalibak and/or Desaad and/or Granny Goodness and/or Lashina and any number of Parademon Warriors and Scouts.

SET-UP: Roll for 1st player and set up normally.

VICTORY: Calculate victory points normally.

SCENARIO #3: CONFLICT WITH CLONES

The trail takes them to Demos, one of the moons of Mars. There, they stumble across a secret base being used by T.O. Morrow to clone evil versions of superheroes.

MAP: Use the Underground Base map that came with the Indy starter set.

BFC: The Low Gravity BFC card is in effect.

THE VILLAIN: The Villain uses any one version of T.O. Morrow. For the rest of the team, he uses any figures with the JLA team ability. These are evil clones of the real heroes, so he may use multiple copies of specific figures.

SET-UP: Roll for 1st player and set up normally.

VICTORY: Calculate victory points normally.

SCENARIO #4: RUMBLE WITH A RENEGADE

Finally, the GLs and the Zarkonians manage to track down the villain responsible for the plague. The renegade GL Sinestro is behind it all—he had planned to decimate Zarkon 3, then move in with his current allies and take over as dictator.

SPECIAL: If the Hero is ahead on points, he has followed the trail to Sinestro quickly and efficiently. He is given an extra action per turn.If the Villain is ahead, then Sinestro has been given more time to prepare. He is give the extra action per turn.

MAP: Sinestro was based on an out-of-the-way planet that is orbiting far from its small sun. The first player picks either the Park map, the Swamp map from the Hellboy starter set or the Japanese Gardens map.

BFC: First player rolls one die. On a 1-3, the Darkness BFC card is in effect. On 4-6, the Deep Shadows BFC card is in effect.

THE VILLIAN: The Villain uses any one version of Sinestro. He has the option of using the Big Figure Sinestro if he prefers. He cut a deal with some of Batman’s Rogues’ Gallery for help on this job (promising them use of the ultimate hideout—another planet), so he may also use any one version each of figures with the Bat Enemy TA. (Exception: Ras al Ghul would not work for another villain, so neither he nor Talia may be used.)

VICTORY: This is it. If the Hero wins, they obtain the antidote to the plague and Zarkon 3 is saved. If the Villain wins, then Sinestro is eventually successful in his conquest of the Zarkonians.
