When two threats simultaneously strike 30th Century Earth, the Legion of Superheroes leaps into action. But the current leader of the Legion must quickly and effectively divide his resources in order to save innocent lives.
In this campaign, one player will control the LSH and a few of its allies, while his opponent will control the various villains the good guys are battling. The two players will be respectively referred to as the Hero and the Villain.
MAPS: Each of the four scenarios in this campaign requires a specific map. If that map is not available, the players should be able to agree on a reasonable substitute. Roll dice to settle any dispute.
TEAMS: The Hero can use any one version of all characters with the LSH keyword. He may also use Krypto. The Hero may also use any number of Science Police in each scenario. In several of the scenarios, he will be given the choice of using certain guest starts.
TRIPLICATE GIRL/DUO DAMSEL SPECIAL RULE: The Hero may play a single figure to represent Triplicate Girl (and assume her powers represent her ability to divide into three) OR he may play 3 seperate Triplicate Girl figures (or 2, if he's playing her as Duo Damsel) to represent her powers more literally. In this second case, her various powers simply represent how effectively her different selves work together in concert.
The Villain’s available characters will be listed in each scenario.
FEAT CARDS: Neither player may use ICWO or Lazarus Pit. Otherwise, Feat cards are freely available for use in all scenarios.
BATTLEFIELD CONDITION CARDS: During set-up for each scenario, the players roll dice. The high roller gets to decide if BFC cards are to be used for that scenario. If so, each player MUST play a BFC card. These cards may not be cancelled.
LEGION TEAM DIVISION: The first three scenarios happen simultaneously. The Hero must divide his available forces into a 600 point team, a 500 point team and a 300 point team. The final scenario is 600 points.
SCENARIO LENGTH: All scenarios last 10 rounds
VICTORY: The winner of the fourth scenario is the winner of the campaign. Keep a running total of victory points throughout the first three scenarios. The leader going into the final battle gains an advantage.
SCENARIO #1: 600 points.
The Fatal Five is attacking Legion Headquarters. The Hero gathers together a team to fight them off.
TEAMS: The Hero uses whatever characters from his available pool he has not designated for other missions.
The Villain uses one version each of the following figures: Tharok, Validus, Emerald Empress, Persuader, Mano. All these figures are assumed to have “Fatal Five” as a keyword. Optionally, he may supplement his force with Dreadnaughts (borrowed from the Marvel Universe to represent some battle robots built by Tharok).
MAP: Use the LSH Headquarters map that came with LSH starter set.
SET-UP: Roll dice for first player and set up normally. Remember to roll dice a second time to check whether you are using BFC cards.
VICTORY: Total victory points normally.
SCENARIO #2: 500 points
Members of the 20th Century Legion of Doom have been teleported into the future as a part of their latest nefarious scheme. The Legion sends a team to intercept them over the streets of Metropolis.
MAP: Use the Metropolis Street Map from the DC map set.
TEAMS: The Hero uses whatever characters from his available pool he has not designated for other missions.
The Hero may also use a couple of 20th Century heroes who have pursued the bad guys into the future. He may use up to 2 figures with the JLA keyword (except Superman—Silver Age physics prevented anyone from being in two places at once because of time travel.)
The Villain may use one version each of the following figures: Lex Luthor, Braniac, Bizarro, Cheetah, Toyman, Captain Cold, Sinestro (may use the regular or the big figure), Riddler, Black Manta, Gorilla Grodd, Solomon Grundy, Scarecrow, Giganta. All these figures are assumed to have “Legion of Doom” as a keyword.
SET-UP: Roll dice for first player and set up normally. Remember to roll dice a second time to check whether you are using BFC cards.
VICTORY: Total victory points normally.
SCENARIO #3: 300 points.
A small team of Legionnaires take a Time Bubble back to the 20th Century to destroy the Legion of Doom’s time machine.
MAP: Use the Underground Base map that came with the Indy starter set.
TEAMS: The Hero uses whatever characters from his available pool he has not designated for other missions. In addition, he may use up to two figures with the JLA Team Ability.
The Villain uses any Legion of Doom members he did not use in Scenario #2
SPECIAL: The Villain places a Special Marker anywhere in his starting area. This is the time portal. It has a defense of 18 and is destroyed by any attack that does at least 2 damage. If the portal is destroyed, the Hero gets 100 bonus victory points. If it isn’t destroyed, the Villain gets the 100 points.
SET-UP: Roll dice for first player and set up normally. Remember to roll dice a second time to check whether you are using BFC cards.
VICTORY: Total victory points normally.
SCENARIO #4: 800 points.
The Legionnaires learn that both the Fatal Five and the Legion of Doom had been tricked into working as pawns for Darkseid and either the Time Trapper or Mordru, who have formed an uneasy alliance and plan to attack the Earth. The Hero quickly recalls heroes from the other missions to put together a force to intercept the forces of Apokolips in space.
MAP: Use the Space Map. All the special rules regarding this map are in effect.
TEAMS: The Hero may use any figures from his available pool of characters except the Science Police. The cops simply didn’t respond to the emergency as quickly as the LSH.
The Villian uses either the Time Trapper or Mordru, plus any of the following figures: Darksied, Kalibak, Desaad, Granny Goodness, Lashina and any number of Parademon Warriors and Scouts.
In addition, Darksied has managed to brainwash or otherwise recruit some of his unwitting pawns. He may use up to two members of the Fatal Five and up to two members of the Legion of Doom (choosing only from those who had already come to the future).
SPECIAL: Whichever player is ahead on points gets an extra 20 points added to his build total.
SET-UP: Roll dice for first player and set up normally. Remember to roll dice a second time to check whether you are using BFC cards.
VICTORY: This is it. If the Hero wins, Earth is saved. If the Villain wins, then the future belongs to Darksied.
