I love the superhero game Heroclix. Like most of us who play the game, I also enjoy the comic books upon which the characters of the game are based.

So I've created a number of campaigns designed to simulate storylines with a traditional comic book feel to them. I'll be gradually posting the several dozen I've got ready over the next few weeks. After that, whenever I get around to creating a new campaign, I'll add that as well.

For the most part, the campaigns will be divided up into Marvel, DC and Mixed Universe. There will be a few single scenario entries as well.

If I can figure out how to manage it, I'd like to allow other Heroclix fans to post their own campaign/scenario creations here as well.

Challenge of the Superfriends!!!!!!: A DC Universe (sort of) campaign

The Legion of Doom is up to its old tricks—launching a series of attacks on the Superfriends in its latest attempt to take over the world. Can our heroes defeat the villains yet again—or is Earth finally doomed?

In this campaign, one player will control the Superfriends, while the other will take over the Legion of Doom. There are four scenarios in the campaign. The players will keep a cumulative victory point total throughout the campaign. In the end, if the Superfriends are ahead, then the world is safe for more Saturday morning cartoons. If the Legion of Doom is ahead, though, then the entire population of the Earth has been enslaved and turned into Bizarro and Cheetah clones!!!!!

“Meanwhile, at the Hall of Justice”

The Superfriends get one each of the following figures:

Superman

Batman

Robin

Aquaman

Wonder Woman

Flash

Hawkman

Green Lantern (Hal Jordan)

Red Tornado (replacing Samurai)

Black Lightning (replacing Black Vulcan)

(Sorry, there’s no analog I can think of to replace Apache Chief)

All Superfriends get “Superfriends” as a keyword.

“Amidst the boggy mists of their treacherous swamp”

The Legion of Doom gets one each of the following figures:

Lex Luthor

Cheetah

Black Manta

Bizarro

Braniac

Sinestro

Solomon Grundy

Scarecrow

Captain Cold

Riddler

Gorilla Grodd

Toyman

Giganta

All Legion of Doom members get “Legion of Doom” as a keyword.

TEAMS: All scenarios are 600 points. Players are allowed to use feat cards freely. But neither player is allowed to use the exact same team each scenario. You must include at least two figures you did not use in the previous scenario.

SET-UP: In each scenario, roll dice to determine who is Player #1 and set up normally.

SCENARIO LENGTH: Each scenario lasts 12 rounds.

BFC: A BFC is in effect for each scenario. This may NOT be cancelled by either player, despite having theme teams.

SPECIAL OBJECTS: Each player may trade off one regular object per scenario for any special object.

SCENARIO #1: “The World’s Deadliest Game”

Background: The Legion of Doom lures some of the Superfriends into deep space with a phony distress signal. Then they strike from ambush!!!!!

Map: Player #1 will choose either the Space Map or the Crashed Spaceship map.

BFC: Player #2 picks either the Low Gravity or the High Gravity card.

SCENARIO #2: “Secret Origins of the Super Friends”

Background: The Legion travels back in time to interfere with the origins of the more powerful Superfriends. But the heroes give chase through time, cornering the villains in the past.

Map: Player #1 chooses either the Airbase Map or the Castle Map.

BFC: The Rally BFC is in effect.

SPECIAL RULE: Superman, Wonder Woman and Green Lantern have been removed from the time stream—they are not available for this scenario.

SCENARIO #3: “The Final Challenge”

Background: A powerful alien called Zartu captures members of both the Superfriends and the Legion of Doom, forcing them to battle each other to determine whether good or evil is more powerful.

Map: The Arena Map is used.

BFC: The Debris BFC card and the Proximity Mines care are in effect.

SCENARIO #4: “The Monolith of Evil”

Background: The Legion of Doom attempts to recover a hideously powerful object.

Map: The Swamp map from the Hellboy set is used.

BFC: None in effect.

SPECIAL RULE: Player #2 places a special object in one of the four center squares of the map. This object may not be picked up—BUT it may be moved normally using telekinesis. The object may not be destroyed.

Any figure within one square of this object gains Mind Control with a range of 10 and can target three figures. No damage is taken by the figure for using mind control regardless of the point values of its targets. The power is lost immediately whenever the figure is more than one square from the special object.
