I love the superhero game Heroclix. Like most of us who play the game, I also enjoy the comic books upon which the characters of the game are based.

So I've created a number of campaigns designed to simulate storylines with a traditional comic book feel to them. I'll be gradually posting the several dozen I've got ready over the next few weeks. After that, whenever I get around to creating a new campaign, I'll add that as well.

For the most part, the campaigns will be divided up into Marvel, DC and Mixed Universe. There will be a few single scenario entries as well.

If I can figure out how to manage it, I'd like to allow other Heroclix fans to post their own campaign/scenario creations here as well.

BOUNTY HUNTING WITH SILVER SABLE

Silver Sable and her Wild Pack are very good at their jobs, raking in high fees for apprehending wanted super powered criminals. But it’s a profession with a very high overhead. To turn a profit, Sable and her boys must constantly keep an eye out for the highest available bounties being offered by both governments and insurance companies.

What follows is a series of 5 scenarios, each representing Silver Sable working to take down wanted criminals. Each scenario, if she’s successful, will net her a lot of reward money. But replacing damaged equipment as well as Wild Pack health benefits add to the expense column and reduce profits.

The player using Sable and other heroes will be referred to as the Hero. The player operating the various groups of bad guys will be referred to as the Villain.

WARNING: This scenario requires owning or borrowing some generics. HDC Troopers will be borrowed from the DC universe to represent members of the Wild Pack. Hydra agents, Mandroids, Dreadnaughts, and Kree warriors will be popping up as well.

MAPS: Each scenario has a specific map designated for it. If a particular map isn’t available, then the players should be able to agree on a substitute. Roll dice to resolve any disagreements.

THE HERO: In each scenario, the hero uses any one version of Silver Sable. He must use the same version throughout the campaign. Also, he must use at least 4 HDC troopers in each scenario. He may use any levels he wishes and may use different combinations of levels in each scenario. He may use more than four troopers in any scenario if he chooses to do so.

The Hero may also use any one version of Spider Man and/or the Veteran Sandman throughout the campaign. He always has the option of whether to use either or both of them in any scenario. He is never required to use them, but may do so whenever he wishes.

In addition, before each scenario, the Hero rolls one die and picks one of the choices off the following Guest Star List. That guest star is available for that specific scenario:

1. Power Man and/or Iron Fist
2. Falcon
3. Nighthawk
4. Black Knight
5. Hawkeye
6. Tigra OR Hellcat
7. Shang Chi
8. Cloak and Dagger
9. Black Cat
10. Daredevil
11. Black Panther
12. Moon Knight

As with Spider Man and Sandman, the Hero is not required to use the guest star. He merely has the option of doing so.

Finally, a specific guest star is listed for each scenario. Once again, the Hero has the option of using that guest star, but is not required to do so. This scenario-specific guest star is IN ADDTION to the character from the guest star list. The Hero may use either or both.

THE VILLAIN: The Villain’s characters change with each scenario.

NO DUPLICATES: Neither player may use duplicates of named figures. Duplicates of generic figures are allowed.

FEAT CARDS: Neither player may use the “In Contact with Oracle” or “Lazarus Pit” cards. Aside from this restriction, both players may assign Feat Cards freely when forming their teams.

BFC CARDS: A scenario will specify whether BFC cards are to be used. Otherwise, they’re not used.

VICTORY: The Hero wins if he racks up $500,000 dollars in reward money after expenses. The bounties for the various bad guys are listed in each scenario. The Hero collects the bounty for every one of the Villain’s characters he KOs.

Expenses are calculated via friendly characters who are KO’d:

It costs the Hero $50,000 whenever Silver Sable is KO’d.

It’s $25,000 for any other friendly character KO’d.

If a character is captured by the Sentinel, that’s $50,000 apiece.

Silver Sable costs a cool $100,000 if she’s captured by the Sentinel.

At the end of the campaign, the Hero adds up his collected bounties and subtracts his expenses. If he’s at least $500,000 in the black, he’s the winner. Otherwise, the Villain wins.

VICTORY (ALTERNATE METHOD): The two players can secretly write down how much they think they can earn playing the Hero. Then they compare their bids. The player who gives the highest estimate gets to play the Hero, with his bid as the winning goal.

THE SCENARIOS: For convenience, the scenarios are labeled #1 - #5, but are not listed in any specific chronological order. Instead, at the beginning of the campaign, the players should both roll dice. High roller picks the first scenario. The other player picks next, and so on. Players need not announce their picks in advance. The player choosing the scenario is first player for that scenario. In each case, choose sides and set up normally

  1. bOUNTY hUNTING WITH sILVER sABLE was one of the most fun games I have ever played. I played it with my son, who is a very experienced player and his friend who is a novice and they both had a great time with a great game. Thanks.

  2. I'm glad you enjoyed it. Did Silver Sable make enough bounty money to win?
